Time to celebrate! Thanks to you, GRR’s bright yellow is spreading across the nation, from Maine to Kansas, to California, and more. From a small group of seventeen, we have grown to 825+ GRRs in 46 states and three countries.
We have emailed, made phone calls, marched, testified, protested, written letters, shared our victories in the 2018 mid-term elections!
In fact, an article in Democracy stated, “For those who wonder who is going to rebuild the foundations of U.S. democracy…they are the newly mobilized lead by for the most part by Middle America’s mothers and grandmothers.”
There’s no stopping here. The road may be rough; we may stumble, but we pick each other up and move forward. We need each other. We older women can share more stories about the days before Roe v. Wade made abortion legal. Our lived experience, of the days when abortion was illegal and access to contraception limited, provides a valuable perspective to those resisting the far right. Younger women will learn from us why we must not go back to those earlier days, no matter what! The time is NOW!
Social media has significantly extended our reach to a national audience. People of all ages are turning to GRR! to add our perspective to their activism.
All of these requests culminate in the launch of our new website on December 5, 2018! It is packed with information, resources, and tools for activism.
Here’s where we need your help! Your donations, large and small, will amplify our voices across the land, in state legislatures, in the chambers of Congress, grocery stores, book groups, clubs, and social networks. We have much to do to rally and prepare for the 2020 Presidential Elections.
