Pam Richardson on Becoming a GRR!.

November 30, 2018

I was a Planned Parenthood volunteer from 1986 through 2015. The pace became increasingly frenetic and the dialogue more confrontational.

By 2015, we were just reeling from one crisis to the next. Meanwhile, I wasn’t getting any younger.

Then Grandmothers for Reproductive Rights came to my attention, perhaps through Facebook. As I followed their posts, I felt as though I’d come home. What welcomed me was a group of mature compatriots, presenting their support for the continued reproductive rights of younger people with the firm, calm and reasonable voice of experience.

This is where I belong now. This is my new comfort zone. And in this last year, 8 other Kansans have joined me as local members.

GRR! has only just begun and I am so pleased to be a part of this great organization.
