June, 2014. Five GRR members travel to Washington, DC to convince Congress to support the new Women’s Health Protection Act. GRR joins more than a hundred advocates from all over the country in this day-long event organized by the Center for Reproductive Rights. If the Women’s Health Protection Act is passed by Congress, politicians will no longer be able to create laws restricting women’s access to reproductive health services in their state.
While in DC, GRR members meet with staff from both Senator Angus King and Senator Susan Collins’ offices. In addition, we were welcomed by both of Maine’s representatives in the House, Mike Michaud and Chellie Pingree.
